Getting Personal

I'm currently pursuing my BPhil in Data Science at the University of Pittsburgh with minors in computer science and theater arts. When I'm not working on research or coding (like this website!) you can find me drawing portraits, practicing yoga, or listening to a psychology podcast. I'm drawn to work that bridge technical skills with human connection, from art to design or building systems that center inclusivity. For me, the best kind of learning is when I'm creating something that matters.

Building to Help Others

I've always been the kind of person who learns best by doing, that could be prototyping a new tool at a hackathon or diving into a research question I can't stop thinking about. What excites me most is working alongside people who challenge my thinking, mentors who push me to ask better questions, teammates who bring perspectives I'd never considered. Every project teaches me something new, not just about the technical work, but about how to collaborate, and build things that actually work for real people.

Leading with Empathy

Some of my most formative experiences have come from working with kids at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer and St. Edmund's Academy. As Village Director at camp, I mentored a team of counselors, and I learned that there is no algorithm to creating an inclusive space. It's about listening, adapting, and centering the people you're designing it for. From planning programming with campers needs in mind or helping my staff when things were difficult, I saw how leadership coming from empathy creates space for everyone to thrive. These experiences taught me that the best researchers aren't just good at building, they're good at understanding people. That's the kind of researcher I want to be.
